How to Play Aviator -

From placing that initial wager to toggling auto cashout, setting up dual bets, and understanding the session pacing required to maintain control.

// Everything You Need to Get Started
It’s relatively quick to grasp Aviator, but you’ll spend more time trying to get your approach sensible. The core gameplay loop is straightforward (multiplier goes up, hit your one-time button before it stops), and most people will understand the mechanic after only 2 rounds of play. What they’ll probably require a few more rounds to get comfortable with is how to structure a session without losing their bankroll to the normal variance of the game.
Read through this article before you jump into a real-money session. If you’ve already gotten a few spins under your belt and something’s unclear, jump right to the section you need.
// Before You Start: What You're Actually Looking At
Load Aviator into your browser, and the display will show a dark background with a multiplier window centered on screen. That number starts at 1.00x when the plane lifts off the ground, then it rises until the round is over. That value is the only thing that determines how much you will get back.
Surrounding the multiplier display: a wagering panel at the bottom with an input field for you to enter your stake amount and a Bet button; a column on the left labeled Live Bets that will display the current bet size of other players in real-time; a small chat area to the right; and a Statistics button that sits near the top right corner. The mobile experience will squeeze out the Live Bets and Statistics panels, focusing your attention on the multiplier as the most prominent element.
Your attention should be on the multiplier and the Bet/Cash Out panel to the lower right. Live Bets and the in-game chat are social features that add a bit of character to the experience, but they won’t provide you with any new clues about where the multiplier will go. You’ll want to focus on understanding how to read and interpret the primary display first.
The rest of the screen is just window dressing. The aesthetic is well done, and the design is clean, but don’t become mesmerized by the theme. Get your head around the multiplier and how to use the wagering interface before you get wrapped up in other aspects of the game.
// Setting Your Bet
Your wagering field is at the bottom of your screen. Enter your desired stake amount and press the Bet button during the round timer. You can’t place any new bets once the plane has lifted off the ground.
The minimum bet amount is $0.10. You can place up to $100 per bet position. If you’re playing with the dual-betting feature turned on, you can have up to two positions going at the same time. The interface will present two separate wagering windows side-by-side, allowing each bet position to have its own individual bet amount and target multiplier to cash out at.
Make sure the amount you’re putting up each round gives you a sufficient bankroll for at least 20 to 30 spins. If you’re running a small bankroll of fewer than that, an occasional cluster of lower-value payouts could cause your session to come to an early conclusion.
Most players just starting with this game will do best playing somewhere around $0.20 or $0.50 a spin. That’s low enough that a couple of losing rounds won’t throw you off, yet high enough to still feel good when you win. Increase your bet size after a few sessions once you understand how the multiplier is distributed on a macroscopic level.
Your bet amount is your total risk per round. If you’re cashing out at a multiplier of 3.00x and have a bet of $1, your payout is $3. The multiplier doesn’t change based on what stake size you use; your wager only determines the absolute monetary value you can win.
// Hitting Bet: What Happens Next
Once you place a bet during the countdown, the plane takes off, and the multiplier starts climbing from 1.00ร. You may then cash out at any point while the game is live. There are only two possible outcomes for any round:
โ
Successfully Cashed Out
A successful cashout takes place when you press the Cash Out button while the multiplier is active. Your return equals the original stake times the multiplier value at the time you pressed.
๐ฅ
The Plane Flew Away
The round ends if you fail to cash out before the multiplier crashes. In this case, your stake is lost. The crash multiplier is briefly shown, and the next round immediately starts.
// Understanding the Multiplier in Real Time
It is important to note that the multiplier does not evolve in real time as the player watches; it is decided before the start of the round using Spribe’s provably fair algorithm. A SHA512 hash of the result is published before the plane takes off. As a result, the crash multiplier cannot be changed after the round has started.
The multiplier in the game is a coefficient; it is not a value. It is a multiplier. For example, if the current multiplier value is 3.50 and you cash out with a $2 stake, your return will be $7.00 (3.50 ร 2). Your profit would be $5.00 (minus the original $2 stake). In other words, the current multiplier value includes your stake.
Another important thing is that the multiplier has the possibility of stopping below what may be reasonable in a given session. The multiplier will often stop below 2.00. In fact, around 50% of rounds crash below 2.00, which makes it feel like a losing session; however, this is an integral part of the mathematical function of the game. It is the result of the algorithm. There is no connection between crash multipliers from one round to another; each round is independent of the previous one.
The multiplier may also crash as early as 1.01ร on the first tick. It is not an error or glitch. This is simply the result of the algorithm. It is a valid outcome. Since players are made aware of this possibility before the start of the game, it is easier to accept when the round ends early.
// The Multiplier Values: What They Mean
Unlike some casino games, there are no tokens or points to earn; players simply cash out when the multiplier reaches the number they want. However, Aviator does have various multiplier bands. Each multiplier band serves a different function for the strategy:
1.00รโ1.50ร
Low Multiplier. The plane flies for only a short distance before the crash multiplier occurs. These rounds end quickly and may be difficult to cash out in time. They are also very frequent.
1.51รโ2.00ร
Subpar Multiplier. These rounds are below average, but they are playable, especially with an auto cashout strategy. An auto cashout set in this range will win more rounds than it will lose, but the multiplier is low enough that the profit is minimal.
2.01รโ5.00ร
Standard Multiplier. These are the most common multiplier values in the game. Players will usually try to cash out during this range.
5.01รโ10.00ร
Good Multiplier. These are relatively consistent multiplier values. You can count on them happening regularly and plan to set auto cashout in that range to maximize profit.
10.01รโ100ร
Rare Multiplier. These occur, but they may not occur for several rounds in a row. However, if one occurs while the player is still in the game, the multiplier will give a good profit.
๐
100ร+
Very Rare Multiplier. It can go very high, with a theoretical maximum of 100,000ร. However, many casinos put a cap on wins of $10,000 in any round, regardless of the multiplier that is reached.
The multiplier ranges above indicate the cash-out target you set for auto cash-out. A target in the mid-range will win a higher percentage of rounds, resulting in frequent but small wins. A target in the 10.01ร- 100ร range results in fewer winning sessions, but higher payouts.
See how multipliers distribute in practice
The free Aviator demo runs on the same provably fair algorithm as real-money play. You can launch the game, spin through 20โ30 rounds, then set an auto cashout target.
// Cashout Timing: Manual vs Auto
The only true choice you make during every spin in this casino is when you choose to cash out. You can choose to either:
๐ข
Manual Cashout
Look at the multiplier and press "Cash Out" when you're ready to leave. Easy to understand, harder to actually carry through. There is a momentum associated with watching that number going up, which is a fake reality: there is no less chance of the plane flying away as the multiplier is increasing, for example. A good choice when you have a pre-planned target you wish to reach and hold to, rather than making a decision each spin based on how the number looks.
๐ถ
Auto Cashout โ Fixed Target
Choose your multiplier in the automatic cashout box, and the plane will take off and leave whenever that multiplier is achieved. Decides out of the round. The target is set in calmness before a round begins, and not under pressure as it is during. The most consistent option for most players.
๐
Auto Cashout โ Varied Target
It's not uncommon to pick and change your auto cashout target based on length of play, bankroll size, or desire for variance. A 1.5ร โ 2.0ร is more common, 5ร โ 10ร less so. Neither changes the RTP, only the frequency of your wins.
โก
Dual Bet Combination
It's possible to have two bets going, each with its own different auto-cashout target. Usually, this is a smaller, frequently achieved, auto-cashout and a larger, less frequent target. The results of the two bets are independent; one has no protection or compensation for the other. If the plane crashes before either cashout targets is reached, both bets are lost.
The biggest problem I see among players, and the greatest source of losses, is manual play with no targets for too long. In the presence of a rising multiplier, there’s nothing more valuable to have than a target to aim for.
// The Autoplay Feature: How to Use It Properly
Autoplay replaced your bet for you each round. The key is to set your stop-conditions before you start it: don’t just start it with a pre-defined number of rounds.
Number of Rounds:ย
The number of rounds before autoplay ends. This assumes some condition hasn’t been met.
Stop Conditions โ choose from:
Win
When a round results in a payout greater than your bet.
Win over X
When a round results in a payout of at least X.
Balance increase by X
The session ends when your current balance is at least X higher than what you started with.
Balance decrease by X
Your session loss limit. The round ends when you have lost at least X. You should always use this.
Always, always pre-determine “Balance decrease by X” before autoplaying. When the time comes to end a session after losses, you are the least capable of doing so. Set it beforehand, when you’re thinking clearly, not during the round in which you’re thinking the least.
Important: When you stop autoplay, you’ll be in manual play again, where you must reset and enable it manually. If it ends, you should rethink whether or not you want to continue with another session of autoplay immediately. You don’t want to view that stop as a hindrance to your gameplay, but rather a time of reflection to think about whether you should continue with the same strategy.
// Customising the Interface
Before you dive in, it’s smart to check out these few settings:
๐
Statistics panel
Here you'll see the full history of previous rounds along with your own personal cashout records. It's great to go over after you've finished playing, but it's less helpful to have it on while the game is going on.
๐ฒ
Live chat
If you're playing for real money, this will be switched on. It can always be collapsed down if you need the screen real estate. Good for keeping tabs on the community; an annoyance when you're trying to track your own progress.
๐
Sound settings
It's good to hear a sound when a round ends and you cash out. Not so good to hear some lo-fi beat in the background when doing that. You can turn them on/off independently in the settings.
โก
Panel layout on mobile
All the side panel menus get collapsed away on small screens; the multiplier takes up all the space. Only expand any panels back out if you want social context around you.
// Finding Game History and Statistics
There are two screen elements worth looking at after every session:
๐
Round History
You can find out what your most recent cashout values were, and what crash points the current set of rounds has landed on. Looking at this over 20+ rounds in is more helpful than round-by-round, since you can get a sense of where your session actually went.
๐
Statistics Tab
Here you will see the highest multipliers that have hit the game today and this month (and historically, if you scroll down). It helps put things into perspective for you regarding what to expect in real play when it comes to high multipliers.
Unfinished rounds: if you disconnect during a round, the round will still use the pre-generated crash point (which you might not have seen) to determine the result. If your cashout (manual or auto) was triggered during the round before the round crashed, your money will be credited to your balance.
// Playing on Mobile
Aviator runs on the HTML5 web browser, so you just open your mobile casino browser (or app) where the game is hosted. It adjusts the screen to your phone so you don’t need to download an app.
๐
Touch cashout
It is optimised for tapping when you need to hit the cash out button, the most time-critical interaction in the game. Works very well on a touchscreen.
๐ฑ
Portrait vs landscape
Works in both. Landscape is nice to see the wider curve as it plays. Portrait keeps the best panel big on screen.
๐ถ
Connection quality
Remember it's real time animation of the plane flying off, not static image frames you get when you refresh. A bad connection can delay the cash-out response. Use Wi-Fi if you're gambling for money.
โ ๏ธ
No official Aviator app
Spribe never produced an Aviator app. Anything called an Aviator app available outside of the licensed casino's app stores is not real or from Spribe.
// The Demo Version: What It Does and Doesn't Give You
Demo mode runs the same provably fair algorithm on fake currency as the real-money mode you’d play if you deposited money on your casino account. All features are available, including dual bets, auto cashout, and autoplay. The exception is rain-free bets, which are available only if you play for real money.
โ
What demo mode provides
Same multiplier distribution that you'd see in real-money sessions Full auto cashout and dual bet feature to try different combinations Familiar pace of rounds, so you're familiar with the game before going for real money stakes Chance to find a cashout number you can confidently hit consistently (in an unlimited number of rounds)
โ
What demo mode can't provide
Same feeling that comes when you see the multiplier rise with real cash on the line The ability to stick with your cashout number when you're actually putting cash on the line Sense of how Rain free bets work if they're offered A measure of how disciplined you really can be when playing on your own account with real money
Try playing for at least 2โ3 sessions in the demo mode at your chosen real-money stake before playing for real. Not in the pursuit of finding a winning pattern (since there are no patterns, only randomness), but rather to get it to feel second nature to place the bet and trigger the cashout at the right moment, so your mind isn’t occupied in those actions when it’s actual cash at stake.
// A Typical First Session: What to Expect
Here’s the typical first session for the majority of players, and not just for the optimists:
- Almost all rounds will end before 2.00ร. Not a cold streak, just the way the rounds go
- At some point, an entire round is going to lose below 1.10x almost instantly. This is okay.
- Some of the time, a round is going to go above 5x or even 10x. Depending on your auto cashout target, your position may not still be open.
- Sometimes a few (3 to 5) losing rounds occur consecutively. This is variance doing exactly what we expect it to do.
- At the end of the session (by some predefined stop condition or the end of a specified number of rounds, or by your choice), you’ll probably have made some tiny profit or suffered some tiny loss.
You should not expect your results to accumulate and reach a climax. Each round is a reset. To manage the sessions, you will simply need to ensure that your session is positioned to take advantage of the occasional high multiplier, while not making too big a mistake when a series of low multipliers occurs.
// Common Mistakes to Avoid Early On
Manual cashout with no set auto cashout target
If you wait until the round begins before deciding where your target is, you're deciding the least suitable conditions. Always set your cash-out target before you begin any round.
Not setting a loss limit
Make sure you set the 'Balance decrease by X' stop condition before any autoplay session starts, otherwise you'll be in a compromised position by the time you've decided that it might be a good idea to stop.
Using Live Bets as a signal to exit
It might appear to you, as more than one player makes a cashout, that it's an indicator that the session is likely to end. However, it's an indicator only that others' cashout targets have been reached, and it's not advanced knowledge of when the crash point will be. Make cash-out decisions based on your own targets.
Increasing your auto cashout target after a sequence of small multipliers
Each round is independent of previous sessions, increasing the cashout target because you're expecting to win a higher multiple now that you're 'due' is nothing but gambler's fallacy. Set a target and keep to it.
Treating dual betting as a form of protection or hedging
Both positions can win or lose on the same multiplier. A plane flying away at 1.20x takes both your bets with it. They are two separate bets on the same multiplier.
